Grow your own… homo erectus pekinensis
AQInteractive has announced that Blue Dragon will be coming out on the DS, March next year (approx. £26). Originally, an Xbox360 exclusive, the producers of the game say that they want a wider range of audience, partly due to Uematsu’s music choreography. I did take a peek at the AQInteractive site, but no further info on this as of yet.

Kind of reminding me of the Settlers series, or Cultures, there’s a not much hyped about game in the simulation genre coming out on PS3, as of 18th (approx. £31). Titled シーマン2~北京原人育成キット~, it roughly translates to “Grow your own Homo erectus pekinensis”. More like bringing him up and making him collect riches scattered around the isolated isle. With your wealth, you get to trade for items from our age (like fridges and chocolate)… and the screenshot I’ve got here has him drinking Pepsi – what reaction would he have to such a thing, indeed?
DQ IX’s new screenshots can be found here, featuring multi-player capabilities. Coming out on DS sometime next year. Also out next year (Feb., £22), Space Invaders Extreme has some screenshots too.
Mario Party DS. Yeah, on the DS, but up to 4 players only. Screenshots found here – paltry, considering there are apparently over 60 different mini-games to enjoy. Story mode is also available for single play.

Lastly… One of the journalists (who claims that the main thing to see at TGS are those cuddly characters) who went to the Tokyo Game Show wandered around in search of Sonic, and got a photo of him in the nick of time before closing time on the last day. Big place with loads of cosplay types also meandering amongst the general throng of people. Must’ve been hard. He writes when he finally found Sonic, he was hard pressed not to go and hug the hedgehog. Oh, for anyone interested in the photos, they’re here.
