Warriors have no brains (WoW rant)

It’s been revealed that the New Super Mario Bros. DS will finally make it’s way over to Europe sometime in the early summer. Isn’t that nice? Not much of a delay with this title, at least. Aside from this news, there just doesn’t seem to be much info today (unless you want the info on MMORPGs that you won’t be able to play). Oh, hang on. And GDC will feature a Nintendo Interactive Lounge, though no details as of yet.

One of my pet hates of WoW at the moment happens to be the relentless ‘ding/gratz’ cycle in guild chat. Please stop! It’s lame, especially when you’re lower level and the ‘ding’ happens every half hour. It quickly gets boring, and above all shows you (the perpetrators of this obscene fad) as an attention-seeking brainless idiot.

Talking of brainless also… warriors. What the hell are your problems? I hear from my other half (his main character being a warrior) that as a class, it really is quite hard to play, but surely it’s not beyond every warrior’s capacity to stick to some basic rules? Like if a rogue saps one enemy, it’s for a good reason. Don’t thunderclap, roar or charge the damn thing. Obviously being wiped in BRD repeatedly has soured my mood this weekend.

I also play as a priest. Would people in the group stop whining and yelling ‘HEAL!’? Especially when no damn warriors (here’s that class again) is taking the mob off me… If the priest’s being hit, no way can he/she heal you. Simple, right?

I honestly think that a recent study of people and how they react to their avatars/characters (see New Scientist article) is pretty spot on. Warriors are low in intellect as a class, so they feel they ought to be forgiven for their ‘mishaps’. Right now, I hate warriors with a vengeance… more than those hunters and warlocks who leave their pets on aggressive stance. If only you can kill someone from your own faction.
