PS Business Briefing ‘06
Today, Sony announced that the much-talked about PS3 will be coming out early November this year simlutaneously in all regions. They also say that they are expecting to produce 1million every month and hope to have sold 6million by next March. Also at the Briefing, they announced other changes and improvements to be made on their consoles:
PS2
- hopes to drive prices down and have other games ready
PSP
- new colour, Ceramic White, to hit the stores from April for approx. £103.95 each
- addition of a camera from October so that video chat will be possible
- GPS receiver is in development, to be available to the general public by the end of this year
- web browser will be upgraded sometime in the spring to accomodate Flash (surprising that they haven’t done this already seeing that most Japanese sites will have Flash animation)
- PSP and PS3 will be compatible via USB and Wi-Fi; also PSP can be used as a remote control for the PS3
- plans for downloadable games from the network onto a memory stick; hopes most PS games will be playable on the PSP
- prices to come down: US $199, Europe 199Euros
